Learn to Dance

Whether you've danced all your life or never done an 8-count before, we are here to teach you! From East Coast basic to Lindy and Blues, we will all be dancing in no time.

Meet Great People

Social dancing leads to meeting amazing people. With JMU students from every major and path of life you can think of, this club is where you'll find your people.

Have Fun

With the dances we host, group trips to the ropes course, enjoying the local Harrisonburg dance scene and more, there is so much fun to be had in a variety of ways.

When and Where?

  • Beginner lessons are every Monday night from 9:00pm until 11:00pm in Mind and Body Studio 1 in UREC
  • Intermediate lessons are every Wednesday night from 9:00pm until 11:00pm in Mind and Body Studio 1 in Mind and Body Studio 1 UREC
  • Every member is asked to do one semester in beginner lessons before moving on to intermediate. Everyone is welcome to come back to beginner lessons after their first lesson and we encourage it to get to know your fellow members! (If you already have swing dance experience and think you should be in the intermediate lessons your first semester, talk to an exec member.)

Dues….?

Dues for one semester are $25 or $40 for the entire academic year. Dues cover your entrance fees into our social dances as well as group outings and a stipend for trips such as DCLX. You can pay by semester or pay the $40 at the beginning of the year (only accepted in the Fall semester). Please don’t let money problems get in the way of you joining our club- payment plans can be set up with the Treasurer if needed. You must set up a payment plan or pay dues by the fourth beginner lesson of the semester to be on the roster!
