Southview Fires
On March 28, 2019, the Southview Apartments of The Hills caught on fire and almost 50 JMU students were displaced. JMU Swing Dance collected money and donations to give to students who had lost everything with only a few weeks in the semester left. Our last dance of the academic year in April 2019 was a fundraiser for these students. Admissions fees of either donated clothes or food or money were collected and all given to students who lost their homes. We are fortunate to be in a place where we can help our community because they have done so much for us.
